KBR employees are continuously raising money and giving time to benefit their local communities. The multitudes of creative and enjoyable ways of giving back have led to impressive results around the world.

KBR employees in Houston recently raised nearly $20,000 for Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas in a "groovy" bowl-a-thon led by KBR's young professional organization, IMPACT.  KBR was a sponsor of the event and a total of 11 teams from the company participated in the 1960's themed event and were part of over 5,000 bowlers that raised over one million dollars to benefit the students of the greater Houston area.

Junior Achievement's mission is to empower young people to own their economic success. This volunteer-based program teach students K-12th grade about financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship and the Southeast Texas chapter hopes to reach over 315,000 students this school year. Employees raised money from colleagues, friends and family to sponsor their participation. Pam Roche, Vice President of Project Execution, and Junior Achievement volunteer said, "Working with area youth is a very rewarding and an important part of motivating our future workforce to stay focused on their career goals."

Around the globe in Saudi Arabia, the local IMPACT chapter led an effort to replace the hard drives on 40 used KBR PCs so that they could be donated to a local charity. The group spent hours laboring over the computers for the benefit of MUDHAR charity, a well-known organization throughout Saudi Arabia which provides basic services to care for the underprivileged and indigent. Mudhar plans use these PCs for a newly opened kindergarten class.

KBR’s Faisal Naseem helped replace the hard drives on used PCs in Saudi Arabia which were later donated to a local charity.
"Our young professionals inspire social responsibility in all of us," said regional Vice President Peter Orrell of the Saudi IMPACT chapter. "Not only do we have the privilege of giving back to our local communities, but this hands-on project was a great team building activity for our office. It was a win-win for KBR and our local charity partner," he continued.

Layla Sadah and Jaber Al Qahtani volunteered to replace hard drives on PCs for charity at an event organized by KBR’s young professionals group, IMPACT.
KBR also recently announced a new charitable partnership with the Houston Texans Foundation, the charitable foundation of the Houston Texans, to work together on a variety of community events to support the community as well as KBR's charitable focus areas of education and health.

The partnership kicked off with the Houston Texans Kids Triathlon presented by Texas Children's Hospital in May in Houston. KBR was an event sponsor and focused on delivering a message to kids about the importance of safety.

In addition, the Houston Texans will participate in KBR's Annual Charity Golf Tournament and in KBR Kids Day, an annual event held by KBR and the Buffalo Bayou Partnership later this year.
"The Houston Texans are proud to announce our charitable partnership with KBR that will continue to serve the youth in Houston through our joint community initiatives," remarked Greg Grissom, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. "We are committed to being Champions for our Youth and we look forward to working together with KBR to continue achieving this goal."
