As one of the world's premier E&C contractors, KBR has worked on numerous large scale oil and gas projects, but the biggest and longest continuous engineering program we have delivered is for the Caspian Projects operated by BP.

We have reached many significant milestones during our 18 years on the multiple phases of the BP operated developments, but this August KBR reached one of the most significant yet: 17 million man hours worked.The original contract for BP's Caspian work was signed in June 1997 between Brown & Root and Amoco. Countless KBR employees have played a role in the multiphase, offshore and onshore program in KBR offices all over the world including London, Baku, Houston, Singapore and Jakarta - making this a true global effort.

There have been many phases in the program to develop Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil fields and Shah Deniz (SD) gas field, two of the world's largest offshore hydrocarbon fields in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. The logistical complexity and size of these developments is staggering and few other companies in the world have the experience, expertise and know-how to handle such mega projects like KBR. FEED work began in 2004 on the Deep Water Gunashli Complex.KBR completed ACG

Phases One, Two and Three and SD Phase 1, solidifying KBR's position as the leading design contractor in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea. In 2009, KBR was contracted to provide FEED and procurement support services for the Chirag Oil Project (the next phase of ACG), consisting of a single, large drilling platform that tied into the existing ACG offshore infrastructure.In 2013, KBR was awarded a contract by BP Exploration (Shah Deniz)

Limited to provide EXECUTE engineering and procurement support services for the Shah Deniz Stage 2 Project following the successful completion of the FEED services. SD2 consists of an offshore complex made up of two bridge-linked platforms (jackets and topsides) as well as a massive upgrade of the onshore gas processing facility.The Sangachal Terminal is vital to the processing of oil and gas in the Caspian basin.KBR has set an incredibly high standard for safety while working effectively on BP's Caspian Projects.
