The upgraded and refitted offices of KBR’s Government Solutions, Asia-Pacific headquarters in Canberra, have been officially opened by Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry, Hon. Pat Conroy, MP. 

To mark the occasion, Minister Conroy visited the offices and unveiled a plaque alongside Stuart Bradie, KBR President and Chief Executive Officer, Rob Hawketts, vice president, Government Solutions, and local staff. 

KBR has invested nearly $5 million in the upgrade to this facility, with most of this investment going towards upgrading security, enabling KBR to broaden the services and the level of support it provides to the Australian government. 

Mr. Hawketts said, “Some five years ago, KBR employed less than 100 people in Canberra. Today, we have more than 250 staff located in Canberra delivering a wide range of classified projects. This employment growth and our upgraded offices are an example of defence industry supporting the government’s commitment to defence and national security – and KBR welcomes this commitment.” 

“KBR is one of the largest – if not, the largest – purely defence industry services businesses in Australia,” Hawketts continued.  

Although KBR has been at the site, which is adjacent to Canberra International Airport, since 2008, this office space has been through a major security upgrade and refit. 

At the office opening event Minister Conroy said, “You (KBR) are a critical input into defence capability. “The ADF (Australian Defence Force) can’t go where they need to go, they can’t do what they need to do without defence industry supporting them. You are critical to this country’s national security and that’s why I’m so pleased to be here to help celebrate your refurbished office with greater security.”
