Get to Know: Leanne Huitson

For Leanne, one day at KBR can look very different from the last. But the variety is one of the things she loves most about her role as chief of staff for KBR’s Government Solutions (GS) EMEA business. Leanne uses her skills to identify and resolve potential issues, drive improvements, and effect positive outcomes across the business. She also regularly leads projects that have strategic importance for KBR, such as integrating new acquisitions, rolling out company-wide initiatives, and conducting site planning with pandemic preparedness top of mind.
One of the things that Leanne appreciates most about being a part of the KBR family is the culture.
“You can see across the company this focus on executing with excellence for the customer, which has led to continued growth and success and allows us to attract new people who also want to achieve success,” she said. “There’s also our deeply engrained commitment to safety through Zero Harm, which has helped me to be less complacent and more aware of potential risks and really changed how I behave at work and in my personal life.”
Leanne also values the sense of community that permeates everything that happens at KBR.
“Teamwork is embedded in KBR’s values and I believe that it is our people’s commitment to working together and building connections that makes us successful,” she said.
And it’s something she takes to heart. Leanne currently serves as a member of the leadership council for All In, KBR’s global community for inclusion and diversity. She is helping to establish KBR’s first veterans-focused employee resource group, a project of particular significance given her past service with the UK’s Royal Air Force and KBR’s large veteran community. And she also actively participates in team activities, such as the 4/4/48 Virtual Challenge, during which she and her teammates ran four miles every four hours for 48 hours!
When not helping guide KBR to success, Leanne loves to travel to new places, experiencing new cultures, environments, histories and food.
