Army Ten-Miler 2023

08 10月 2023

Washington, D.C.

KBR is the Co-Lead Sponsor of the 39th Annual Army Ten-Miler!

The Event:

The Army’s annual 10-mile race and expo takes place in Washington, D.C. Attracting nearly 35,000 runners and 900 teams from around the world, the Army Ten-Miler (ATM) exemplifies the Spirit of Sport and the Spirit of a Nation. Participants include military, civilians, wheelchair athletes, and wounded warrior athletes. ATM’s mission is to support Army outreach, build morale, and promote physical fitness. Each year, more than 900 soldiers and 900 volunteers support the Army’s “world class” ATM race.

KBR's Involvement: The Team Behind the MissionSM

KBR's Government Solutions U.S. business is joining the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) again this year on Sunday, October 8, as co-lead sponsor of the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C. Since 2005, KBR has been a major sponsor of the annual race, which directly benefits soldiers and their families. KBR is also the official sponsor of this year’s Army Ten-Miler Shadow Run Series, which provides an opportunity for Army personnel and families stationed overseas to participate in the race through MWR-hosted events at their local installations. The Shadow Runs include 20 sites across four continents this year.

KBR consistently supports its customers from behind the scenes. We are pleased to partner with AUSA and the Army Ten-Miler as another way to show our dedication to soldiers, veterans, and their families. KBR not only stands beside the troops when carrying out important missions worldwide but prides itself on standing with them and their families when they return home as well.

Race Details:

The race weekend will begin Friday, October 6, with a runner's expo, featuring Wear Blue: Run to Remember, a non-profit organization KBR donated expo space to. Saturday evening there will be a pasta dinner with live entertainment. On Sunday, runners will gather in the early morning hours near the Pentagon to prepare for the race, joined by supporters and KBR volunteers. KBR’s co-lead sponsorship, which provides free event shuttles, water stations, snacks, and reunion areas for runners to link up with family and friends, is on display throughout the day at Fort KBR near the race finish line. KBR also sponsors the Hooah Tent Zone, where attendees have the chance to meet soldiers, listen to music, and enjoy fan-favorite foods like Wisconsin bratwursts.

All proceeds from the ATM go to the U.S. Army's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program. The MWR program enriches the lives of soldiers and their families, both culturally and creatively, by providing a variety of family, morale, welfare and recreation programs and services.
