KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions to make Oil and Natural Gas Greener
KBR is the world leader in ammonia process licensing and is also the provider of the most reliable and energy-efficient ammonia technology, at lower capital cost. With more than 75 years of experience and 242 ammonia plants worldwide, in the domain of commercial ammonia synthesis plants KBR occupies over 50 per cent market share.
KBR offers its K-GreeN® solution to produce green ammonia as a long-duration energy storage medium. Green ammonia allows the flexibility to store energy and helps decarbonize the transportation, power, fertilizer and chemical sectors, which in turn supports a reliable, renewable energy.
The green ammonia process aims at high-efficiency synthesis of CO2-free ammonia. It includes: Nitrogen generation and storage, hydrogen generation and storage, synthesis gas compression, ammonia synthesis and storage.
Green ammonia is essentially ammonia produced with no greenhouse gas emissions. The sun, air and water provide the power and elements to create this versatile source of energy, nutrition and chemical feedstock.
Here using renewable power, nitrogen is separated from the air, and hydrogen is extracted from water - through electrolysis - to deliver the pure elements in order to produce green ammonia. With the increasing availability of renewable energy, green ammonia offers a flexible way to store energy and transport it for use, either as energy or feedstock.
KBR’s Paolo Brunengo, Director, Ammonia, Syngas and Fertilizer joins the panel discussion on “Process Technologies to Make Oil and Natural Gas Greener” and talks about KBR’s Green Ammonia Technology. Meet us virtually at WPC 2021 on Mon, Mar 8, 10:00, CT.
