Partnership continues to deliver positive results in 13th year of program

KBR, in partnership with Aurecon, has been awarded a two-year contract extension to support SA Water’s capital delivery program. The contract will continue until 2026 and will see KBR and Aurecon continue as SA Water’s front-end engineering design and client organization partner.

SA Water’s capital delivery program will continue to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects that includes dam upgrades, water tank refurbishments, bulk water transfer infrastructure, water main replacements, sewerage network upgrades and water and wastewater treatment upgrades. With work spread across South Australia, SA Water’s capital delivery program is one of the largest in the South Australian Government’s portfolio.

The partnership with SA Water, KBR and Aurecon has provided program management services to deliver great outcomes to SA Water and its customers by creating sustainable drinking water solutions such as desalination plants for regional communities in Oodnadatta and Kangaroo Island. The team has also improved wastewater management through installation of modern sewer systems and treatment plant upgrades. With a deliberate intent to leave a long-term positive impact on the communities in which we work, the team helps to break down barriers to employment and actively supports Indigenous communities and businesses.

Key to the success of this long running partnership is a fully integrated delivery model where the KBR and Aurecon teams work side by side with the client, engineers and contractors.

For KBR, this two-year contract extension builds on our 13-year collaborative relationship as SA Water’s integrated program management partner.

KBR’s Vice President, Infrastructure Solutions Australia Wayne Nolan said, “KBR has been working alongside SA Water for over three decades to design and deliver important projects, and for the past 13 years, supporting capital delivery through leading program management. Through this extension, we aim to support SA Water to keep ahead of the technology curve in relation to integrated water management and make sure their investments are future focused.”

KBR’s Margaret Riley, Director of Water said, “The contract extension recognizes our strong relationships, flexibility and ability to bring best in class ideas to challenges. Together, the capital delivery team is well positioned to take SA Water’s capital delivery program to new heights, building on the innovation established over the past four years to help deliver smart, reliable and great value outcomes for the South Australian community.”

This contract extension reflects KBR’s continued commitment to applying leading solutions that drive innovation and growth across the water industry. Learn more about our water solutions here.
