KBR opens two new Australian offices in Adelaide and Melbourne

Publish date

Two KBR offices in Australia have recently relocated, moving into newly built spaces in both the Adelaide and Melbourne business districts. Featuring sleek modern designs and plenty of features that make people excited to come to work, the new offices offer more than just beautiful workspaces – they provide open, welcoming environments that encourage collaboration, socialisation and positive cultural shifts that enhance our people’s day-to-day lives.

Time for a change

Both the Adelaide and Melbourne offices had each been home to KBR employees for around three decades. However, as the years passed, the buildings were starting to look tired and didn’t offer the array of modern office facilities people were looking for. Plus, both offices were in city fringe suburbs, making travel to and from client meetings time consuming.

Both the Adelaide and Melbourne teams chose sleek, modern, recently renovated office towers, located in their respective city business districts. With Adelaide’s warm tones, sweeping views and greenery throughout, to Melbourne’s floor to ceiling windows and impressive city skyline, both spaces offer an impressive aesthetic, while providing a variety of agile working options - including meeting rooms and booths to encourage collaboration, as well quiet spaces and focus areas. Plus, both new offices feature the latest amenities, from end of trip facilities to sparkling water taps and a café style coffee bar.

Aaron Fowler, Vice President, Infrastructure Solutions Australia, said, “The new Adelaide and Melbourne offices are more than just sophisticated new spaces, they represent our commitment to give our people and customers the best possible experience each and every day. These new offices are a reflection of our ONE KBR vision coming to life, providing seamless opportunities for connectivity and collaboration with our global team of teams.”

Nic Maan, Vice President, Government Solutions APAC, said, “Both offices are amazing facilities to work and meet in. It’s fantastic to now have our combined teams together under one roof, reinforcing our collaborative ONE KBR approach across Australia and globally.”

Recognizing Country

Both the Adelaide and Melbourne offices held opening events, complete with ribbon cutting ceremonies and morning teas. Each location recognised the Traditional Owners of the land the offices are located - Kaurna Country in Adelaide, and Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne.

With Adelaide’s office opening coinciding with National Reconciliation Week, the Adelaide office invited Jack Buckskin, a proud Kaurna and Narungga man, to perform a moving welcome to country. Then, the office was treated to an insightful keynote from Tiahni Adamson, a proud descendant from the Kaurareg Nations of Thursday Island, who spoke about the importance of reconciliation and just how much work there is still left to do. Melbourne’s office opening featured special guest, Wurundjeri Elder Perry Wandin who performed a welcome to Wurundjeri Country.

With all of KBR’s Australian offices now using the same hot desk booking system, employees can easily work at any KBR location across the country, making travel between KBR offices across Australia a completely seamless experience.
