KBR Donates $100,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
KBR recently donated $100,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and was the title sponsor of the St. Jude Legends for Charity event which is held every year in association with the NFL during Super Bowl week.
As a company, we believe good corporate citizenship is essential and our employees take great pride in giving back and helping others. Our motto at KBR is "We Deliver" – and we fulfill our mission by delivering world class results to customers around the globe. The primary themes of our charitable donations are health, safety, education and the environment and St. Jude naturally fits into those tenets. St. Jude is fulfilling their mission in the same manner as KBR: delivering world class results for their patients by leading the way in research and treatment of cancer and other life threatening diseases.
KBR's Graham Hill spoke at the event and said, "KBR's sponsorship would not have be possible without our dedicated employees who have volunteered their time, efforts and even given their personal funds to this cause. I am especially proud of KBR's young professional group in Houston that designs, manages and executes KBR's Charity Golf Tournament, which delivers the majority of our corporate giving funds. They represent for me the very essence of our company – a dedicated group of professionals working in teams to deliver their mission."
Rick Shadyac, President and CEO of ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital thanked KBR for the donation and noted that the Legends for Charity dinner raised a record breaking $812,000 for the organization. "We are so grateful for KBR's support," said Shadyac. "Because of people like you, St. Jude is able to provide hope to some of the world's sickest children. Your support helps ensure our families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food—allowing them to focus on what is most important – helping their child live. We are forever grateful to you."
It is our hope that with KBR's $100,000 donation, St. Jude can continue to make advances in medical research, and one day childhood cancer will be a thing of history.
