AMS Washington Forum & Student Networking Reception

17 Apr 2023 - 19 Apr 2023

Grand Hyatt Washington, 1000 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001

KBR Sponsors American Meteorological Society (AMS) Washington Forum Student Networking Reception

As the prime contractor for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) ’s National Mesonet Program, KBR is proud to support the AMS mission of advancing weather, water, and climate science and services. To help ensure a weather-ready nation, KBR and its partners supply local weather data from more than 50,000 weather observation platforms from around the world. This data plays a critical role in the nation’s numerical weather forecasting and local monitoring infrastructure, as well as drastically improves weather prediction, severe weather watches and warnings, and emergency response for all regions of the country.

For more than 40 years, KBR has worked with a variety of government agencies including NOAA, NASA, and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to support Earth and planetary science and data processing, analysis, and visualization operations. Our full spectrum of services encompasses solar and space plasma physics, astrophysics and astronomy, planetary studies, oceanography, seismology, geodynamics and solid Earth geophysics. As mentioned, KBR also monitors Earth’s seismic activity, weather and landscapes, as well as biological, chemical and nuclear threats. These tasks support the acquisition, archival, processing, and distribution of remote-sensing data from satellites, which aids first responders, intelligence, agriculture, academia, and research communities.

As a part of this year’s forum, KBR is sponsoring the Student Networking Dinner on Tuesday evening (April 18), an excellent opportunity for job seekers and organizations to network. For those attending, we invite you to visit with our team to learn how you can belong, connect and grow at KBR! Join the Team Behind the Mission today at careers.kbr.com.
