KBR to Support More Resilient Satellite Communication Services

Publish date

KBR announced today that it will be providing sustainment services to provide the Australian Defence Force with more modern, assured and resilient satellite communications services.

The company has been selected as the industry partner to sustain Aggregated Monitoring and Control (AM&C) of Satellite Earth Stations.

The program of work will be supported by specialist Australian SME Blacktree Technologies and US based Kratos Defence and Security Solutions.

An initial program of work was awarded to Clearbox Systems Pty Ltd – a KBR company - which has successfully designed and implemented a remote, centralized monitoring and control system for the earth stations located across Australia.

Clearbox’s role continues to focus on the provision of remote, centralized operation of SATCOM ground and space assets in Australia and overseas and to aggregate operation of these assets.

The contract aligns with KBR’s recent MINERVA (SEA2273) contract where the company is equipping the Royal Australian Navy with a more modern Fleet Information Environment.

Nic Maan, KBR Vice President Government Solutions, APAC said, “We have brought together the best of Clearbox’s capabilities with KBR’s world leading Deployed ICT skills. Our proposal will provide Defence with more efficient, secure and capable communications.”
