KBR extends consultancy for the CO2 Utilisation Roadmap developed by Australia’s National Science Agency

Publish date

Australia’s National Science Agency, CSIRO, has developed the CO2 Utilisation Roadmap. According to this report, Australia could pivot its carbon dioxide waste into a valuable revenue stream to support various industries.

The Roadmap draws from national and international consultation, including KBR, the Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, Woodside, Santos, BHP, Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers, APA Group, Mineral Carbonation International, the Victorian Government, Advisian, Australian Trade and Investment Commission and COValue Australia.

“KBR is pleased to have collaborated with CSIRO in the development of the new CO2 Utilisation Roadmap, that shows how carbon dioxide could be turned from problematic waste into commercial products, creating new industries and reducing emissions for Australia and the world, at large," said Martin Hay, Director, Advisory Australia, KBR. "By integrating carbon reduction with the achievement of a circular economy, the report charts a path, whereby investments made in the global industrial hubs can be pivoted to create new jobs in a low-carbon economy.”

Prepared in consultation with government and industry, the Roadmap explores the opportunities offered by upcoming carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technologies for Australia to aid new industries and decrease carbon emissions.
