KBR Showcases Technology, Expertise at LNG Conference

Publish date

Last week KBR sponsored and participated in the 18th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas ("LNG 18") in Perth, Australia. KBR is one of the top five companies in the world in the LNG Engineering, Construction and Commissioning business which is why it was important for KBR to have a strong presence at LNG 18. Thirteen KBR attendees, including executives Graham Hill and Farhan Mujib, went to meet with existing customers, prospective new customers, and to showcase KBR's industry-leading LNG capabilities.

"LNG is a truly global business, and this event is strongly supported by all customers, contractors and suppliers. It is only held every three years, so there is a great deal of focus on making the event a truly top class event," said Graham Hill, Executive Vice President, Global Business Development and Strategy.

As a sponsor of the conference, KBR had robust visibility around the event venue including on staircases, posters, and in a new booth which showed off the company's experience and capability in all aspects of LNG. KBR professionals in the field made several presentations throughout the week, demonstrating our technical and project expertise. KBR's Jim Cowling, Chief Technology Engineer, presented a paper on flow and acoustically-induced vibrations at LNG facilities and Chris Caswell, Director, Technology, presented a paper on LNG design competitions and led a workshop on "Technical Innovation for the Future of LNG."

Around 35 meetings with customers and partners were held at KBR's booth and company representatives were involved in many discussions about new projects, technology variants, and how to design and implement cost effective LNG projects in these challenging market conditions.

KBR's booth also gave attendees the opportunity to learn about current projects such as Magnolia LNG, a grassroots LNG Plant on the Gulf Coast, and various KBR technologies the company is presently working on for a number of customers. In addition, KBR's diverse LNG capabilities were showcased including onshore LNG, offshore FLNG, near-shore FLNG, Gravity Based LNG, LNG Regasification, Floating Storage and Regasification (FRSU).

Following on the successes of the LNG 18 conference, KBR is looking forward to making waves at OTC in Houston this May.
