Business Segments
KBR has created a solid foundation for growth and set a course for the future through six business units structured to effectively serve the needs of clients in its chosen markets. With strong market positions, a sound plan for the future and talented people dedicated to our success, we are exceptionally well positioned for market leadership in the following areas:
Downstream
KBR's Downstream business unit serves clients in the petrochemical, refining, coal gasification and syngas markets, executing EPC projects throughout the world that feature the latest and best process and design technologies. Our differentiated process technologies add value to downstream projects, making them more competitive and maximizing the yield of high-value products.
Government & Infrastructure
KBR's Government & Infrastructure (G&I) business unit is an engineering, construction and services contractor for public sector and private clients worldwide. G&I delivers on-demand logistical support services to national security clients across the full military mission cycle. KBR also serves diverse infrastructure markets, including contingency construction, transportation, waste and water treatment, and minerals. We have played a key role in the development of vital facilities for more than half a century.
Services
KBR's Services business unit encompasses four product service lines (PSLs) which include North American Construction, Canadian Operations, Industrial Services and International Operations. Each PSL is focused on building KBR's Services business unit into a recognized and acknowledged leader in providing construction and maintenance services in the United States and worldwide. KBR Services leverages operational excellence and proven project management capabilities to deliver predictable results.
Technology
KBR's legacy of technology leadership provides a strong differentiator and a competitive advantage, particularly in partnership with our downstream business. As a separate business unit, KBR Technology is creating better visibility for our offerings, aggressively developing other revenue opportunities, such as licensing, and penetrating markets that are closed to other KBR businesses. With a state-of-the-art technology center, plus 80 years of emphasis on research and development, we are well positioned to extend our technology leadership.
Upstream
KBR's Upstream business unit provides a full range of engineering, procurement, construction and related services for some of the world's largest and most complex upstream energy projects. We are a clear market leader in gas monetization, having participated in the design and construction of more than half of the operating LNG capacity built over the last 30 years. We also serve the offshore energy industry, providing integrated engineering and program management solutions for production facilities and subsea developments.
Ventures
KBR's Ventures business unit develops, arranges financing for, invests in, and participates in the management of special-purpose companies owning assets of KBR projects. By investing capital and arranging financing for projects where KBR has a direct role in engineering, construction, and/or operations and maintenance, we differentiate the offerings of other business units while capturing attractive investment opportunities.
