Refining

For more than 50 years, KBR has played an integral role in the petroleum refining marketplace in which we have designed or constructed more than 1,000 refining units across the globe. Refiners have come to rely on our ability to deliver unmatched solutions that are low in capital cost and high on quality and reliability. KBR provides full engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning/start-up (EPC-CS) services for a world of clients. We have the downstream technology and expertise to increase long-term reliability while reducing operating costs. In addition to bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise in critical refining processes like residuum upgrading, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) and hydroprocessing to projects - we create technologies that increase their effectiveness.

Our Residuum Oil Supercritical Extract (ROSE) system, in use at facilities like the Navajo Facility in Artesia, New Mexico, provides a reliable option for achieving maximum yields for high-value transport fuels while reducing the production of low-value fuel oil. KBR's Aquaform technology is an asphaltene pelletization process that produces easily transportable particles using conventional means of transport.

Our partnership with ExxonMobil has resulted in the creation of FCC solutions that offer long-term dependability, superior operability and minimal environmental impact. Our Orthoflow FCC unit - in use at an FCC project in Altona, Australia - is a one-piece, self-supporting converter that requires minimal space and maintenance while providing greater flexibility than competing methods. We support our customers with a full range of innovative hydrotreating and hydrocracking solutions at the lowest capital and operating costs.

KBR has the answers to the complex refining obstacles our global customers face. With the use of cutting-edge technology and engineering methods, we are able to provide innovative solutions at a reduced cost and increased efficiency.
