Mark Read is President, Minerals. This newly created business unit is part of KBR’s key strategy to significantly increase our presence in the sector and better serve global clients. Mr. Read joined KBR in 2012 and has more than 30 years of experience in minerals, with particular expertise in large projects.

The formation of Minerals is a direct result of the Roberts & Schaefer Company acquisition, a global leader in bulk materials handling and minerals processing. The acquisition, which included port infrastructure specialist Soros, has created a business unit with the capability to deliver an integrated pit-to-port-to-plant solution to mining clients all over the world.

Prior to joining KBR, Mr. Read was Managing Director and CEO of Sedgman Limited, an Australian resources sector services company. At Sedgman Limited, Mr. Read drove significant cultural change and growth, transforming it from a Brisbane-based company undertaking some overseas projects, to a global company. He also served 20 years at Sinclair Knight Merz, as General Manager of Mining and Metals after beginning his career at BHP Engineering Pty Ltd.
